This Spring (2011) we made our way down to Antigua Guatemala for a friends wedding. We spent about 5 days in the city of Antigua exploring all of its little nooks and crannies. During our visit we stayed at the El Convento Botique Hotel. It was definitely one of the most friendliest and accommodating hotels for foreigners I have been to. In between our moments of exploration and events, I managed to take a couple photos of this enchanting little hotel.
Our room was on the second floor. When you travel across the second floor walkway you can see Volcano Agua over the roof tops to the South.
A view looking north shows you a little park up on the hill. I never got to go to the park, but I was able to see some awesome photos of what I missed out on.
Here you can see the inner courtyard with the pool and garden.
At the end of the second floor walkway, you can see the tops of Volcanoe Fuego and Acatenango. That gold dome is Capuchinas Convento.
My absolute favorite view from the second floor.
Another shot of the courtyard garden, this time from the ground.
Lounge chairs I never had the time to relax in.
The first floor walkway was covered in these hanging vine flowers. The open flowers were filler with water.
Bird of paradise in full bloom.
Alliums lined the little pool.
My favorite pool I never got the chance to swim in. Also, our room was up on that second floor walkway, but out of sight and to the left.
This little dome was actually the roof for the reception on the first floor.
And another rock/water garden tucked away in the more private areas of the hotel.
If you are considering visiting Antigua, Guatemala and need a place to stay, look up El Convento, you wont be disappointed!
Thanks for complimenting this hotel! My dad is the owner of this hotel but recently it hasn’t been getting much income. Thanks again!
No Problem! We all had a great time and loved the accommodations.
