It looks like 2011 is soon coming to a close. And what better way to say goodbye than with some beautiful sunset photography.
I had recently purchased a 2X extender for my 200mm lens, along with a polarizer, and wanted to give it some test shots. Looking out the window, it seemed like the sky could provide an interesting sunset. So I grabbed my gear and headed down to the pier.
It’s almost season here in Naples. And that means a packed pier every night. And I don’t blame them, the sunsets here are one of the best attractions in the SW coast.
It’s hard to tell in this shot, but the Naples pier is roughly 1,000ft long. Sitting all the way back on the beach, it’s not hard to zoom in and get some great perspective.
I normally don’t go for heavily processed images, but I was really enjoying the colors that came out in this.
So there you have it. Another year of Hiking, Kayaking and Photos along the way. I’ll be sure to get back out on NYE and catch the last sunset of 2011. But don’t expect that any time soon. The New Year’s festivities are directly afterwards!
